"Politics and social division should not be allowed to mix ." support this statement with two arguments.

When social divisions got involved in politics in Northern Ireland, it led to years of violent and bitter ethnic-political conflict. In Yugoslavia, the story did not have a happy end. Political competition along religious and ethnic lines led to the disintegration of Yugoslavia into six independent countries. Such examples lead some people to conclude that politics and social divisions must not be allowed to mix. They think that it would be best if there are no social divisions in any country. If social divisions do exist in a country, they must never be expressed in politics.
