how many properties are there for whole numbers? how can i easily study that |
Property of whole numbers: Whole numbers are the natural number that starts with zero. The property of whole number includes Closure property of whole numbers Commutative property (addition and multiplication) of whole number Associative property(addition and multiplication) of whole number Multiplicative identity of whole number Zero property of addition of whole number Zero property of multiplication of whole number Closure and Commutative property: Closure property: The closure property says that the addition of the two whole numbers will give the whole number Let v and s are whole numbers Here (v+s) is a whole numbers For example: 1) 23 +23 = 46. 2) 11 +15= 26. Commutative property (addition and multiplication) i. The commutative property of addition says that sum of two whole numbers v+s and s+v are same Here (v+s) = (s+v). For example: V=21 S=20 (v+s)= (21+20) = 41 (S+v)= (20+21) = 41 (v+s) = (s+v)=41 ii. The commutative property of multiplication says that product of two whole numbers vs and sv are same. Here (v*s) = (s*v) For example: V=21 S=20 v*s= (21*20) = 420 s*v= (20*21) =420 Here s*v= v*s Associative and Zero property: Associative property (addition and multiplication) Addition of the whole numbers and the multiplication of the whole numbers are associative, since changing the order of grouping of the numbers under addition and multiplication will not affect the output. Example for Associative property of addition: 1) (3+5)+4 = 3+(5+4) Here (3+5)+4= 8+4= 12 3+ (5+4) = 3+9=12 12=12 Example for Associative property of multiplication 1.5 × (10 × 6) = (5 × 10) × 6 Here:5 × (10 × 6) =5x60= 300 (5 × 10) × 6 = 50x6=300 Multiplicative identity The multiplicative identity is 1 when we multiply a whole number by 1 we will get the same whole number For example: 1) 25x1= 25 2) 32x1=32. Zero property of addition Here we add zero to whole number the values remains the same. Here the additive identity is zero. For example: 21+0=21 36+0=36 Zero property of multiplication. when we multiply a whole number by multiplicative identity , we get zero. Here the multiplicative identity is 0 For example: 1) 34x0=0. 2)45x0=0Property of whole numbers: |
