A car is moving with a uniform velocity of 10 m/s. The driver of the car decided to overtake a bus moving ahead of the car. So he accelerates the car at 1m/s^2 for 16 seconds. Find the velocity of the car at the end of 10 seconds.Also find the distance traveled by the car by accelerating.

u = 10m/s.
a = 1m/s^2.
velocity of the car at the end of 10s = u + at
      = 10 + 1*10
      = 20m/s.
acceleration continued for 16s.
distance travelled = ut + (1/2)at^2
          = (10*16) + (1*16^2)/2
          = 288m.
