What is Ceres? |
| Ceres, is the first asteroid to be discovered, and also the largest, with a diameter of 567 miles in the inner Solar System. It contains about one-third of the mass of the asteroid belt. It is the smallest identified dwarf planet. It is named after Ceres, the Roman goddess of growing plants, the harvest, and motherly love. |
