41) You are given two fuse wire A and B with current rating 2A and 5A respectively .Which of the two wires would you select for use with a 1000W, 220 V room heater ? justify your answer . |
For a, 1000 W , 220 V heater , Power , P = V * I = 1000W , I = 1000 / 220 = 4.54 A ie, The maximum current flow will be I = 4.54 A So , fuse wire of approximately 5A can provide the protection. If you are using 2A fuse wire , it fuses out suddenly and the device will not work , because the maximum allowable current is only 2A |
