How many moles ofoxygen are required to produce 242g of MgO by burning Magnesium. (Mg = 24, O = 16 )

   2Mg    + O2  ?  2 MgO
(2 mole)  (1 mole)  (2 mole)
Ratio 2 : 1 : 2
1 mole of MgO = 24    +  16
                              (Mg)     (O2)
                             = 40 gm.
242 gms  = 6 moles.
...   6 moles of MgO is burnt
Then the ratio will be ,

                6 :    3    :   6

                Mg   O   MgO

... Moles of oxygen required to burn Mgo are 3 mol.
