In an AP the ratio of t2 and t5 is 1:3 find the ratio of t3 and t8
Given that a+d= x .....(i) and a+4d=3x   .....(ii)
solving these two equations we get,
d=2/3x and a = 1/3 x
a+2d = 5x/3  and a+7d = 15x/3

So t3 : t8 =5x/3 : 15x/3
                =5 : 15 = 1:3
