Who is robert mugabe and what is his significance in zimbabwe?

Robert Gabriel Mugabe is the second and current President of Zimbabwe. He was born on 21st February, 1924 at Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia. As one of the leaders of the national liberation movements against white-minority rule, he was elected as head of government in 1980. He served as Prime Minister from 1980 to 1987, and as the first executive head of state since 1987.
