  The polarizing power of a cation can be estimated from the ratio of its charge to ionic radius (Z/r).
It is also defined as the tendency of metal cation to distort the electron cloud of anion.
polarizing power is directly proportional to charge on cation and inversely proportional to size of cation

Polarizibility of anion
It is the tendency of anion to get distorted because of the polarizing power of cation is called polarizibility power of anion.

polarizibility of anion is directly proportional to both charge of anion and size of anion
