ABCD is a square. X and Y are points on sides AD and BC respectivly such that AY=BX. Prove that (i) BY=AX (ii)

i) Given : ABCD is a square in which X and Y are points on AD and BC respectively. AY = BX .

To Prove : AX = BY

Proof :

InABX andBAY ,

BX = AY ( given)

AB = AB ( common)

XAB =YBA = 90.

therefore,ABX BAY [ RHS]

= AX = BY (cpct )
