Ammu and Malu divided 700 rupees between themselves.If Ammu got 280 rupees more than Malu,Find the amount each got.Find the ratio of their shares?
Let x be the amount Malu got
Then amount with Ammu is x +280
The sum is 700
i,e x + x + 280 = 700
2x + 280 = 700
2x = 700 - 280
2x = 420
x = 210
Amount Malu got = 210
Amount Ammu got = x + 280
                               = 210 + 280
                               = 490
Ratio = 490 : 210
             7 : 3
