if the moon attracts the earth ,why does the earth not move towards the moon . give briefly

The moon doesn't have a strong enough gravitational pull over the earth to shift it so much that the earth moves towards it. If anything the sun's pull over the earth is strong enough (and stronger than the moon's) to keep the earth in orbit around the sun.
