what is ozone depletion |
The Ozone layer is a thin layer within the Earth's atmosphere that
absorbs the large proportion of ultraviolet light coming from the Sun.
Because the ozone layer is so protective, it is vital to life on earth. Ozone particles are very dynamic and can be broken apart and reformed readily. The ozone is a layer of gases that insulates and protects the Earth. As technology has advanced, different pollutants have caused raptures within the ozone, thinning it and leaving holes in this protective layer. Knowing the causes of ozone depletion can help to reduce and restore the ozone layer. |
