briefly explain about the formation of ozone

O3

It is a triatomic molecule, consisting of three oxygen atoms. It is an allotrope of oxygen that is much less stable than the diatomic allotrope (O2), breaking down in the lower atmosphere to normal dioxygen.
It is generally formed in high altitudes because of the action of the high energy ultraviolet radiations which break the oxygen molecule into nascent oxygen which on further reaction with oxygen forming single molecule of ozone.
Moreover, ozone is also formed in the nature during the process of lightning.
The standard enthalpy of formation of ozone is 142, 67 kj/mol.
