IN A 2 DIGIT NUMBER , THE DIGIT IN THE UNIT PLACE IS TWICE OF THE DIGIT IN THE TENTH PLACE . IF THE DIGITS ARE REVERSED ,THE NEW NUMBER IS 27 MORE THAN THE GIVEN NUMBER . FIND THE NUMBER.

Let x be the digit in the unit place and y be the digit in  the tenth place.
Given that y=2x    .........(i)
and 10y+x=27+10x+y
using (i), 20x+x=27+10x+2x
ie, 21x = 27+12x
ie, 9x= 27 implies x = 3
Hence the given number is 36.
