why does an anaemic person have difficulty in breathing?

Anemia occurs when blood does not have enough red blood cells or when the blood does not have enough hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the oxygen-carrying pigment found in red blood cells When the haemoglobin is low you feel short of breadth. Severe anaemia interferes with the body’s oxygen transport system by reducing the amount of oxygen that can be carried by the blood as oxyhaemoglobin. This means that, to supply the tissues with adequate amounts of oxygen, the heart must pump more blood.
