what is uric acid?

Uric acid is a heterocyclic compound. It forms ions and salts known as urates and acid urates such as ammonium acid urate.

Itis a product of the metabolic breakdown of purine nucleotides from the foods you eat. Most of the uric acid is filtered out by the kidneys and passes out from the body through urine.
