what are Golgi bodies?

A Golgi Body or complex is made up of several layers of fluid-filled membrane sacs stacked like pancakes. The purpose of a Golgi body is to sort and transport proteins within a cell.
The golgi bodies work hard to package and to move protein to the out side of the cell. They also process proteins from ribosomes that are located on the ER (Endoplasmic Reticulum).
Golgi bodies are made of membrane bound sacs known as cisternae.
