WHAT IS THE ACCELERATION DUE TO GRAVITY OF A PLANET HAVING MASS AND RADIUS DOUBLE OF EARTH.

acceleration due to gravity,a=F/m where F=GMm / r^2=gravitational force
Here G=gravitational constant,m=mass of object,M=mass of earth,r =radius of earth.
For a planet having mass and radius double of earth,
F=G(2M)m / (2r)^2
= GMm / 2r^2
thus a=F/2m ,that is acceleration due to gravity becomes half.
