Ask a Teacher

what is buoyant force?

The buoyant force is an  an upward force exerted by a fluid  in  opposite to  the weight of an immersed object. Consider an  object is placed in a fluid it  exerts an upward force which  comes from the pressure exerted on the object by the fluid.

note : Archimedes’ Principle states that  the upward buoyant force is equal to the weight of the displaced volume of  liquid.
Buoyant force = Weight of the displaced fluid
