What point on x axis is equidistant from the pointsA(7,6)and B(-3,4)?

Let  A(7, 6), B(-3, 4) be the given points.
Let P(x, 0) be the required point.
Since p is equidistant from A and B,
AP = BP implies AP2 = BP2
So, (x - 7)2 + (0 - 6)2 = (x+ 3)2 + (0 - 4)2
ie, x2 + 49 - 14x + 36 = x2 + 9 + 6x + 16
implies -20 x = -60
ie, x = -60/-20 = 3
Hence point on x - axis is (3, 0).
