What are the examples of different types of plains?

  • Plains are a large area of flat land that has a few trees. Prairies and steppes are examples of plains.

  • Plains are lowlands with no great change in elevation and are at the bottoms of valleys.

  • They can be on plateaus at high elevations as well.

  • Plains provide grasslands for livestock and offer a place for crops to be planted.

  • Types of plains include coastal, alluvial, flood, and glacial. In England during the 14th century it was believed that the dead wandered the plains searching for revenge.
