what is propyne?

Propyne is a gas sometimes used in welding. Propyne is colorless and odorless, and is flammable at room temperature. Propyne has also been identified as one of the atmospheric gases in outer planets. Methylacetylene is an alkyne with the chemical formula CH3C?CH. It was a component of MAPP gas—along with its isomer propadiene, which was commonly used in gas welding. Unlike acetylene, methylacetylene can be safely condensed.
