why is classification of organisms necessary ?

Classification of organisms is necessary to assist in harmonisation of naming and to avoid confusion. Since these organisms appear in different geographical areas, unclassified organisms would end up having different names thus bringing confusion. One of the most recognised forms of classification is binomial nomenclature.
