Give one example for motion in which a)average speed and average velocity are equal. b)average speed is not equal to average velocity. |
a)The motion of a car in a straight line. If the objects moves in a straight line and in the same direction, (though the speed varies with time) the displacement and distance traveled and the time of travel are equal and hence the average speed and average velocity will be equal. b)The motion of a ball in a circular path at a speed of 50km/hr. The average speed is 50km/hr but average velocity is zero. |
