is TELENGANA established as a state?
On 3 October 2013, the Union Cabinet approved the creation of a new state of Telangana by bifurcating the existing state of Andhra Pradesh. On 5 December 2013, the cabinet approved the Telangana draft bill prepared by Group of Ministers (GoM). The bill has to be approved by Parliament before it becomes the 29th state of the Union. The city of Hyderabad would serve as the joint capital of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for ten years.
