Question by anagha on 6 october 2012 Q:WHAT IS THE SHAPE OF AN ELEMENT?

Inorder to stabilise the molecule,the electron pairs repel the other electron pairs and tend to move as far as possible .The distinctive shape of the molecule is due to this repulsion.Scientists used VSEPR theory (valence shell electron repulsion ) model  for predicting the shape of molecules .
