why do plants only want less energy than animals?

All living cells need chemical energy, in the form of ATP, to perform the metabolic reactions necessary for life. Even in plant cells, there are many reactions going on, including photosynthesis and cellular respiration, and these reactions require chemical energy in addition to enzymes to take place. Animals, especially warm-blooded animals, need more energy than do plants because of a high metabolic rate to sustain movement and body temperature, organ functions, etc but all living cells require chemical energy to some degree to maintain their metabolic functions, and plants are no exception.
