A teak wood log is cut first in the form of cuboid of length 2.3 metre,width 75 cm and of certain thickness.It's volume is 1.104 cubic metre.How many rectangular planks of size 2.3 metre,375 cm,34 cm can be cut from the cuboid ?

Given that a wood log is cut in the form of cuboid of length 2.3 m

Width 0.75 m

and volume (V) is 1.04 m3

We know that

Now this cuboid is cut into cuboids of size 2.3 m × 0.75 m × 0.004 m

Then volume of the cuboid V 1 = 0.0069 m3

Let the given cuboid is cut into n cuboids.

? Volume of given cuboid = n × volume of the smaller cuboid

But n can not be fraction
n = 150
Hence we can cut the given cuboid into 150 rectangular planks.
