If cars are only at 50% efficient in energy use, doesn't that break the law of conservation of energy? Explain

According to law of conservation of energy , energy can niether be created nor be destroyed, but it can transfer from one form to another. In the case of above problem,the remaining energy is converted to sound and loss of machinary parts.
