An iron ball of density 7.8 gram/cm^3 and volume 200 cm^3 is totally immersed in water.Calculate the upthrust on it.

The upthrust will be got by volume of water displaced x density of water x acceleration due to gravity.

Upthrust = density x volume immersed x gravity
(density in kg / m³ and volume in m³)

density of water =1000 kg/m³

Upthrust = (1000) x (200 x 10^-6) x 9.8

Upthrust = 1.96 Newtons
