  1. Raja Rammohun Roy -                              Raja Rammohun Roy sought to improve the status of women who felt were in no way inferior to men . He wanted women to be educated so that they could understand their rights.

  2. Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar -                         Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was another ardent supporter of the enlightenment of women. He worked hard for the education and upliftment of women. He started a number of schools for girls in Bengal  and was closely  associated with the Hindu Kanya Vidyalaya founded by J.D.E. Bethune.
  3. Begum Rokeya  -                                               
    Begum Rokeya was an inspiring figure who has contributed much to the struggle to liberate women from the bondage of patriarchy.She started Shakhawat Memorial  School for girls.
