WHAT IS KNOWN AS ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE?
The pressure exerted by the atmosphere at the earth's surface is called atmospheric pressure. Atmospheric pressure is defined as ‘force per unit area exerted against a surface by the weight of air above that surface’. Atmospheric pressure is often measured with a barometer.
