| Heat the mixture, but not to the point where the water boils! Alcohol starts to vaporize at 78 deg. C, while water does so at 100 deg. C. Heat the mixture to about 80-85 deg. C, leave it uncovered, and keep it at that temp for a while -- the alcohol will boil off, the water will stay. |
