What are surface tension. Does it have any definition.

Surface tension is a force present within the surface layer of a liquid that causes the layer to behave as an elastic sheet.

Surface tension is the phenomenon resulting from the cohesive forces of the molecules of a liquid. This forms a surface "film" which makes it more difficult to move an object through the surface than to move it when it is completely submersed.
