Raji's age is 3 times that of her brother rajan. after 2 years, raji's age would be 2 times that of rajan. how old are they now?

Let Rajan's age be x  and Raji's age = 3 x.

      Rajan's age after two years = x + 2

      Raji's age after two years = 3 x + 2

      Then Raji's age is two times Rajan's age.

      Therefore 3 x + 2 = 2 (x + 2)

      Implies 3 x + 2 = 2 x + 4

      Implies  3 x - 2 x = 4 - 2

      Implies x = 2

      Implies Rajan's age = 2 , Raji's age = 3 × 2 = 6.
