In a man aged RBC are destroyed in liver and spleen, this is why the spleen is called the 'Graviad of RBC'. My question is, RBC is also destroyed with in the liver then why don't liver is called the 'Graviad of RBC'?

The normal life span of erythrocytes ranges from 100 to 120 days. The old and worn out red cells are destroyed by spleen and liver. Therefore spleen is also called graveyard of RBC. The number of RBC is maintained by destruction and simultaneous production in the body. The destruction of red cells in the liver produces bile pigments and bile salts.
