Why constitution is referred as supreme law of land?

The constitution of India is the supreme law of India which is fundamental in the governance of India.  It lays down the frame work defining fundamental political principles establishes structure, procedures, power and duties of the government institutions and set out fundamental right, directive principles and duties of the citizen.It is the longest written constitution in the world containing more than 450 articles 22 parts 12 schedule.
