I have learn t acrylic is more durable than wool. Acrylic is less expensive, but wool is costly fibre. Why is it so?

The process of conversion of wool is so costly as well as  not ecofriendly to the environment and hence acrylic fibres which are cheaper  in cost, is preferable.
