what is covalent bond?

Covalent bond :The chemical bond formed due to mutual sharing of electrons between the given pairs of atoms of non metallic elements .
Bond formed by a shared pair of electrons ,each bonding atom contributing one electron to the pair . Depending on the number of electron pairs shared,bond may be single ,double or triple bond .
The stable balance of attractive and repulsive forces between atoms when they share electrons is known as covalent bonding .Covalence means the number of pairs of electrons that a given atom shares with its neighbors .
