Many countries were invaded by the English, but the first country to be invaded by the Empire is harder to define, the Empire simply grew as it's naval power became stronger. The plantations in Eire/Ireland came in approximately 1556 and the invasion and creation of a colony in the America's, which came to be named Virginia, to honour Queen Elizabeth 1, the supposed virgin queen, in 1607.
