what is the difference between bitumen and coal tar?

Coal is formed by the remains of dead and decayed plants, while Petroleum is formed by the remains of dead and decayed animals and plants
 
The coal tar is a by product obtained by destructive distillation of coal, while bitumen is obtained by fractional distillation of crude oil(petroleum).
