Define acid rain shortly?

Acid rain is a rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually acidic which means it possesses raised levels of hydrogen ions.The main human sources come from the industry, transportation and a variety of power plants which cause a drastic increase of the acidic precipitation .  It can have harmful effects on plants,water animals and buildings .It is caused by emissions of sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides which react with the water molecules in the atom to produce acids .It can have corrosion of steel structures such as bridges, statues etc .
