One student uses a lens of focal length +50 cm and another of –50 cm. State the nature and find the power of each lens. Which of the two lenses will always give a virtual, erect and diminished image irrespective of the position of the object ?

The student uses the +50 cm focal length is a converging lens and the other is the diverging lens which had -50 cm focal length.
p = 100/f
First lens:p = 100/50 = 2D
Second lens:p = 100/(-50) = -2D
The diverging lens will always give a virtual,erect and diminished image.
