what is northern plains

The north Indian plain is also called Great Indian plain.it is fomed by the interplay of three major Himalayan rivers Ganges,Indus And Brahmaputra.The plain roughly 7 lakh sq.km in size.it is 2400 km long and 240 km to 340 km broad.

Divisions of Northern plain

          1.Punjab plain
           2.Ganges plain.
           3.Brahmaputhra plain

 lies south of the Himalaya and marked by Alluvial soil(highly fertile Soil)
