how chloro fluoro carbons are dangerous to the ozone layer?

Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) emitted during the 20th century from aerosols, refrigerators and other appliances. When CFCs reach the ozone layer (up to ten years later) the chlorine molecules separate from CFC and destroy ozone molecules. The chlorine survives and lives to fight again. CFCs can remain in the atmosphere for up to 75 years. CFCs are no longer being emitted to the atmosphere and scientists hope the ozone layer will have repaired itself by 2060.
