why can't carnivores be self dependent and have to depend on herbivores
The green plants in a terrestrial ecosystem capture about 1% of the energy of sunlight that falls on their leaves and convert it into food energy.The overall structure and internal systems are not in adaptation to prepare their own food.Hence carnivores cannot be independent.
