why is declaration of writes of man and citizen declared as a revolutionary document

The declaration of rights of man and citizen is related to the  French revolution. It was passed in 1789 by the French National constituent assembly. It is the most important and fundamental document of the French revolution and later it influenced for the development of the idea of Universal human rights. It was introduced by General Lafayette, a French military officer with the influence and assistance of Thomas Jefferson. The declaration advocated that the natural rights of every man should be held equal and universal irrespective of time and place. It became the basis of the idea of individual freedom, equality of law and also influenced the making of constitution of many countries. The declaration became an inspiration for the later revolutions in Europe and Afro-asian countries and finally for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations Organization on 10th December 1948.
