Ask a Teacher

If a 27,b is (-10) and c is 40, show that a -(b-c) is not equal to (a-b) - c

a = 27
b = -10
c = 40

a -(b-c)

27 - (-10-40)
= 27 - (-50)
= 77

(a-b) - c

 (27 -(-10)) - 40
= 37 - 40
= - 3

Therefore a -(b-c) is not equal to (a-b) - c.
