A tsunami is a huge wave or water wall that can cause massive amounts of damage. Tsunamis are often caused by natural occurrences like earthquakes or volcanic eruptions.

The term tsunami comes from the Japanese ??, composed of the two kanji ? (tsu) meaning "harbor" and ? (nami), meaning "wave".
